What we collect, and when

This website does not run a server-side application. We do not store visitor data on this site. Personal data only comes to us when you choose to send it, via one of three routes:

  • The contact form on the home page. Fields: name, phone number, email address, service interest, postcode (optional), project description. When you press Send on WhatsApp, your browser opens WhatsApp with that text pre-filled. When you press Or email instead, your email client opens with the same content. We only receive what you actually send.
  • The chat assistant on the website (the floating widget and the dedicated chat page). The assistant asks for trade, town, timing and optional notes. The same hand-off applies — your brief opens WhatsApp or email pre-filled, and we only receive what you send.
  • Direct contact — if you call, text, email or message us on social media, we receive whatever you choose to share.

We do not use cookies, set tracking pixels, run analytics, or build user profiles. The site has no login, no comments, no newsletter sign-up.

How we use it

We use the information you send us solely to:

  • Reply to your enquiry and provide a quote.
  • Plan, schedule and carry out the work you've asked us to do.
  • Invoice you and keep records required for tax and business reporting.

Our lawful basis for processing your data is legitimate interest (responding to your enquiry) and, where work proceeds, contract performance. We never sell your data, share it for marketing, or pass it to third parties unrelated to your job.

Third-party services we rely on

The website itself is static. However, by using it you may interact with the following third parties:

  • Google Fonts — webfont files (Anton, Inter, Bebas Neue, Fraunces, JetBrains Mono) load from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Google receives your IP address and basic request metadata as part of loading the fonts. We do not pass any other data to Google.
  • WhatsApp (Meta) — if you press the WhatsApp send button, your browser hands the pre-filled message to WhatsApp. From that point, Meta's privacy policy applies to the conversation.
  • Your email provider — if you use the email fallback, your email provider handles the message as it would any other.

How long we keep it

Enquiry messages are kept as long as needed to reply, quote, and (if you go ahead) deliver the work. Records that we are required to retain for accounting and tax — such as invoices — are kept for the period set out in UK tax law (currently six years from the end of the relevant tax year). Anything else, we delete on request.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Ask what data we hold about you (subject access request).
  • Ask us to correct any inaccurate data.
  • Ask us to delete data we hold about you, where we don't have a legal reason to keep it.
  • Object to processing.
  • Withdraw consent, where consent was the basis for processing.

To exercise any of these rights, email jmcjoinery13@gmail.com. We'll respond within one month.

If you're not happy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS. We do not run any server-side application that stores customer data — there is no database to breach. Messages you send via WhatsApp or email are handled by the security of those platforms. The records we keep (quotes, invoices) are stored on devices protected by passwords and current operating-system protections.

Changes to this notice

If we change this notice, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be highlighted on the home page for a reasonable period.
